During a visit to Tampa, I saw the smoke. I smelled the food. And I was hungry! I stopped into BJ's Alabama BBQ with hopes of consuming some "backyard" family bbq! They did not disappoint! Not only was the customer service over-the-top, but the food was hot, good amount and tasted great. If you're in the area and want a good BBQ spot without all the drama of a chain restaurant, I'd highly recommend you check out this spot. I'll definitely be back!

Went Here For A Lunch Day With The Hubby & They Did Not Disappoint!! Hubby Is From Alabama So He Thought He Was Some Type Of Food Critic But The Food Was A1, It Came Out Fast & Fresh. Hubby Didn’t Want Sides, So I Had 2, Mac’n’Cheese & Sweet Potatoes. 10/10 Would Recommend

Staff is very welcoming and friendly. The food though... you gotta get a little of everything, you won’t be disappointed. Their greens are on point, their meats are cooked perfectly and that sauce has the perfect hit of spice. Between the 5 of us, we were able to try just about everything and we all left full and happy. They’re serving up some of the best comfort food I’ve ever had.

Got off the plane in Tampa and immediately went looking for some good local food (no chains or commercial places). When we drove by and saw the giant meat smoker out front we HAD to stop in. Brandy behind the counter was just about the friendliest person ever, the food was amazing, and prices were great. Solid 5/5 stars easily. Will go again before we head out of town.

Must try if you like barbecue!! Voted “Best Barbecue Ribs Anywhere” by my dinner guests. Ordered Carryout for a last minute get together. The ribs and chicken were cooked on the smoker right outside the restaurant door! They had so much meat on them and were cooked to perfection! This is authentic barbecue!!!! The ladies that took the orders and greeted me were very friendly and appreciative. Order was ready right on time. Several sides to choose from. South Tampa is blessed to have this business! Things to be aware of....open hours are Wednesday through Saturday only. They do take a break 3-4pm on open days. They are closed Sunday through Tuesday. I was told by another faithful customer that they do run out of items on busy days, so best to order carryout ahead of time.

This is REAL bbq with the smoker right in front if the door. I have drove by this place a number of times and finally decided to stop in and wow, were we surprised. The two of us each got something different, I got the beef and pork, and my partner got the chicken and sausage Everything was delicious especially the collard greens for me The staff was so friendly and inviting. This food feels like you walked into an authentic southern kitchen and sat down to eat with a family. If you are in the south Tampa area and you were looking for extremely generous portion sizes and flavors that will delight that I highly recommend BJ's Alabama barbecue

I smelled this place from across the street and had to come see what it was all about. Absolutely delicious. I ordered the chicken and my husband had the pulled pork. Greens were cooked to perfection, well done but not soggy. Staff was very pleasant to talk to, we’ll absolutely be back.

Been driving by this place for the last two years finally stopped in today. Had to pull pork sandwich, which was amazing and will order it again but the show stopper was the potato salad. Absolutely amazing. It brought me back to the days that I would only go to church for the potluck lunches. If I only had one thing to say is maybe a little more potato salad on the plate. Cannot wait to try this place again staff extremely friendly and passionate, which is a rarity in the restaurants Industry these days..
